A fetus gets its food through the placenta and the umbilical cord while in the womb. The placenta contains oxygen-rich blood that nourishes the baby. The umbilical cord is what connects the placenta to the fetus. Visit http://www.livestrong.com/article/299731-how-does-a-fetus-get-its-nutrition/ for more information.
