Absolutely wrong! Parents like that disgust me. I am a mom and would never do that. I am 41, and remember my father doing that with my money when I was growing up...it clearly bothered me since I remeber it still.

Maybe if she only did it really uncommonly... then it might be ok. But if she did it all the time, then she is TOTALLY wrong. But she has the rights to spend it. She also has the rights not to spend it :D
Yes, it's totally wrong!!! You can also make her pay it back, but that could cost you more money hiring an attorney. I her name on your bank account? If so, have her named removed from it. Also, you may want to contact your bank and see what they say. It's not your responsibility to pay rent, mortgage or bills, unless the two of you have agreed that you're willing to help out with these expenses! I know this from personal experience!! I took money from my sons account years ago before I got sober. It was wrong, and I had to pay every penny back, with interest!!
