Why do I feel like my muscles are twitching or thumping in my thighs and butt when I exercise?

After I walk briskly or jog at the gym I feel like my upper thigh and butt muscles are twitching or almost thumping under my skin. It doesn't hurt at all, it's just strange. I'm not sure if it's happening because I have cellulite in those places? I'm not overweight, just average. Just wondering if anyone knows what this is and if they have felt the same?

Muscle twitching or thumping is said t o be caused by minor muscle contractions in the area and this may result from insufficient energy in the muscle. Muscles require adequate energy so that they can have proper contraction and relaxation and failure of this may lead to thumping or twitching.
