Yes it will be on your record but when you go to court. You should apologize and let the judge know you are willing to do community service to make up for your wrong. Ask for mercy because this is your first time getting into trouble. You can also appear in court with a well written letter explaining you know what you did was wrong and why. Show judge you have already started to punish yourself for it.

Being a minor, unless you have a previous record of course...theyll probably give you community service or something to that effect.Yes you will have a juvenile record though. Its not a felony, so it wont be on your adult record if you grow up to have one. Im surprised they actually pressed charges though. All teenagers seem to shoplift, including myself. Though in my case, I was simply banned from ever returning to that store. Im 41 y/o now, and Ive learned that stealing anything, especially shoplifting, can get you into alot of unpleasant drama, and its so not worth the compounding lies you have to tell to cover your ass. Id suggest going without or getting a job. Good Luck.
