The stitches on your foot should only be cleaned on their sides. This is for the purpose of eliminating any dirt infections that are close to it. You should avoid any contact of the stitches with objects until the ten days are over.
Did the Dr. who put the stitches in tell you to clean it? Is it bandaged? My experience tells me you should keep it clean and dry. Washing it could let bacteria in and cause an infection. If you feel you really have to clean it, ask the Dr. who put the stitches it in for advice.
Keep your foot elevated to help relieve some of the pain. Also I would wear flip flops to keep your foot off the floor and ground while letting you wound breath. I would use a q-tip to clean around the stitches. You don't want the stitches to get wet. you can also tape a bag over your foot to shower to keep it dry.
