blind faith. If a christian accepts things that are in the Bible as false, then whats to say any of it is true? Thus, reason and intellect are thrown away chasing something that I personally cannot accept and that scientifically, couldn't happen.
Sometimes, we have to believe in something because it is our way of life and philosophy. Just because science can't provide a healthy explanation for the Bible, doesn't mean it isn't true. I respect everyone's views. If you think the Bible isn't true, then that is your position. If others think it is true, that is their position. You can't control what other people think. You can disagree with them, but you can't stop them from believing. Hope I helped :)
It is true because God made all of those things like the giant flood, or the seperation of the sea to let the jews pass. But wiped out all of the soldiers that wanted them as slaves. Jesus made miracles because God sent him here to save us, and teach us.
thats just want satan wants you to believe because once you believe that then hes got one more person to go to hell. but if u actually read the bible and things in like daniel and other books there are many things that were predetermined and have happened. i personally am a christian and i would apresiate it if you didnt start stomping on christianity like its some stupid religion that some butt nugget just though of. christianity has been around longer than any of your religions, if you dont believe that the bible is true then you cant believe in jesus, if u dont believe in jesus you dont believe in god and if u dont believe in god then explain how everything is here, people, animals, plants, life! there is no explination, exvolution is a theory, mohomed thought he was crazy before he died, so whats ur explination now??? NOTHING
IT IS WRITTEN: 2 Timothy 3:16 All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness that the man of God may be complete thoroughly equipped for every good work. The Holy Bible penned by 40 writers over some 1500 years with only one author. This book of 66 books is so interwoven and connected it could not have been accomplished in any other manner. Yes I do believe with my whole heart the Holy Bible is the truth the whole truth and nothing but the truth.
They want strongly to believe in the good moral teachings that are offered in some part's of the bible so they are willing to take a lot of false information that it also offers. The worst thing to happen to the bible, the tora and the koran was for someone long ago to say that it's word's where the absolute truth and handed down from a creator, without taking into consideration the innate curiosity of the human mind. They should have said this is a guide and is inspired by the creator and it would be a good idea if you listened to it. but that doesn't quite have as strong of effect as believe or burn in eternal hell-fire. :/
Nice trap question. You still live in the beliefe that what you preceive to be truth is truth. Everything outside of what you see cannot be realavant. Sorry to come across one who holds themselves as the suppior authority on what is and what is not. What a burden to bear considering you supply all the answers.
The truth of the Bible is obvious to anyone willing to fairly investigate it. The Bible is uniquely self-consistent and extraordinarily authentic. It has changed the lives of millions of people who have placed their faith in Christ. It has been confirmed countless times by archaeology and other sciences. It possesses divine insight into the nature of the universe and has made correct predictions about distant future events with perfect accuracy. When Christians read the Bible, they cannot help but recognize the voice of their Creator. The Bible claims to be the Word of God, and it demonstrates this claim by making knowledge possible. It is the standard of standards. The proof of the Bible is that unless its truth is presupposed, we couldn't prove anything at all.
God Makes Provision For Those Who Believe and Receive Him To Know The Truth Via The Spirit of Christ. ------------------------------------- Scripture Quote ------------------------------------- Nevertheless I tell you the truth; It is expedient for you that I go away: for if I go not away, the Comforter will not come unto you; but if I depart, I will send him unto you. ---------------------------------- Howbeit when he, the Spirit of truth, is come, he will guide you into all truth: ---------------------------------- for he shall not speak of himself; but whatsoever he shall hear, that shall he speak: ---------------------------------- and he will shew you things to come. (John 16:7, 13 KJV)
My response is just in regard to your last sentence, "We KNOW that many of the things in it just aren't true." My response is: EXCLUDE ME from the 'We". I believe every word! So, just want to make it known that I, for one am not one of the "We". The Bible is written by the Inspiration of God and I believe that God makes NO mistakes. So, on this one, as far as "We" are concerned, I stand alone.
Because most Christians are followers, and implicitly rely upon authority and the judgement of others. They mistake solemnity for wisdom, and regard a great countenance as the Title Page and Preface to a most learned volume. So they are easily imposed upon by tradition, inheritance, people with strange garments, and solemn ceremonies. And when teaching of parents, the customs of neighbours, and the general tongue approve and justify a belief or creed, no matter how absurd - as the belief that bible is whole truth, it is hard even for the strongest to hold the citadel of his soul and think for himself.
When one reads the bible, you also have to look at the original language it was written in to make sure it is translated correctly. One example is that the name of the Almighty is Yehowah, incorrectly translated as LORD in most versions. Also the true Hebrew name of the Messiah is Yehowshuwa, incorrectly translated as Jesus in most versions. One must seek the truth or else they will believe a delusion.
