How can I treat very painful phlebitis caused IV infusion in my wrist? Can I use lidocaine patches? How long will it take to go away?

You should not use lidocline patches because they are meant for healthy normal skin. Check out: www.medicinenet.com/lidocaine_patch-topical/article.htm. Furthermore, you should immediately seek treatment if phlebitis is affecting your daily activities. Read more on my.clevelandclinic.org/disorders/phlebitis/vs_phlebitis.aspx.
