What can I do to lose a little weight?

I turned 13 a few days ago, and I realized that I don't feel very confident. I also realized although I'm not "big" I do seem a little overweight. It's kinda embarrassing asking, but any tips on how I can lose some weight so I can be more confident?

I have the same problem! here's what i try do: Go on runs, eat veggies, cut down on sugary drinks, Drink lots of water, (you'll feel fuller more, and Water is AWESOME for the body) Maybe you could try a dance class or swim class, you might really enjoy it! If not the sporty type, just watch what you eat, drink water, and you'll be fine! Hope this helps! :)

I don't normally answer questions about weight loss 'cause there are so many every day, but I'm kind of where you are. Talk to your doctor. She/he can refer you to a program for teens, and can tell you if your weight is good for your height. If you're tall for your age you shouldn't very thin.

It's very simple. Just lean comfortably toward healthier foods, eat as much as you want, as long as you eat tiny bites, that you chew a long time before swallowing. People usually eat so fast that they don't get to savor their food. Therefore overeating.

Change you diet and exercise. (More if you already do.) Join a sport like soccer or a martial art. Also start a diet plan. Some foods when mixed together can offset the PH balance in your blood making it harder to lose weight, even if it's healthy food. Stay away from red meats as well, and if you can do it right, try going vegetarian, vegan, or maybe even paeleo.

My daughter was the same as you at age 13 but she started Jr.High and she had to take P.E class and that was the solution..shes 14 now but she lost the lbs she needed to lose..She would be dressing like a tomboy to hide her extra lbs but now shes wearing very pretty summer dresses..I think this will work for you too..she loves to play basketball and she enoys it alot and doesnt even know shes doing 2 things at the same time..having fun playing and losing weight at the same time!!Good Luck...you can do it!! :)

I'm not a doctor of any kind, but I've been trying several diets and have found a few that work. One diet that I've tried involved controlling my daily calorie intake. Example: Recommended daily calorie diet is 2,000 (vary depending on individual's calorie needs). for about 3-4 months I altered my calorie intake to about 18,000-16,000 and lost about a pound or so a week (without excercise). Later I switched to a 900-1,000 Calorie diet (NOT RECOMMENDED as drastic weight loss may cause medical issues) and lost about 30-40 pounds in 2 months. So in my opinion, being mindful of your calorie intake can help a lot in weight loss though values vary depending on age. Keep in mind that after a while your loss will begin to "plateau" and you will stop loosing weight. This is where excercise comes into play. Stay active and your body will do the rest. If nothing else, ask your doctor or healthcare provider to point you in the direction of a trusted dietitian. Hope this helped!

i went through this at your age.. try staying under 1000 calories a day. this well help a lot. i also ran around the block once a day and then gradually added more exercise. start maybe with walking and then running later. one thing that was the best was palates for me. you can youtube it and find demos on moves or read up on it. you really don't need to spend any money to lose weight. so don't buy into anything stupid and stay away from diet pills!! i have heart problems from using thermogenic at your age i.e. hydroxycut don't do it! also do not over exert yourself. crunches, jumping jacks, squats tons of things you can find online with instructions for you to do them they help a ton. do not eat anything fried or sugary and no soda!. but please be mindful that weight is not everything and if this doesn't work at the rate u want it to please do not do anything unhealthy like stop eating. this will only ruin you metabolism and u will gain back everything when u eat again. good luck! look for maybe exercising blogs too.

(Eating less than 1,000 calories a day) is a bad idea, especially for someone in their teens. It could actually affect cognitive function and/or healthy physical development. Sorry to be so harsh.

Learn about the importance of ph in the body and how it causes fat accumulation and storage, u-tube ph miracle diet and educate yourself on the subject of body/blood ph. Diet and exercise work only if your ph is balanced

I would speak with your mom or dad and tell them you want to lose a small amount of weight and ask them to give you smaller portions of food at meal times. Then I would also make an effort to not snack between meals. That is the best proven way to lose weight without damaging your system.

start off eating less(if you eat alot). then just go for walks and such if your not aiming to lose alot. you can eat whatever you want. but u will have to burn it plus a little extra to ensure weight loss. also have a glass of water and a banana as soon as you wake up. that helps cuz i have tried it

Exercise stretching yoga eating healthy food like berries leafy greens avacados whole grain bread whole grain cereals water and milk. Go for jogs like for 15 minutes every morning. There are weight watchers food at stores like muffins and brownies. :)

all you have to do is eat heathy and go to the gym and work out for 3 hour a day.And you will be in good shape in a few weekes.(But you got to work hard too)

the best answer is to stop eating and drink only pedialyte. wait youre not a varsity wrestler. i went three days with no food and only pedialyte. yeah its that important

Without knowing your eating and exercising habits, it would be hard to nail down the small issue that caused you to gain a little more weight than you'd like. But here are the biggest mistakes people make on a regular basis. If you're doing any of these things, stop doing them, and you'll be amazed at the results:
1. Never skip breakfast. Eating breakfast starts your "engine" and helps you burn calories during the day.
2. Don't drink pop, not even diet pop.
3. Don't eat junk food.
4. Don't eat snacks or carbs after 6. Protein is fine at night, but carbs just sit in your gut while you sleep and turn into fat.
It would also be a great idea to get into a sport (IE: exercise on a regular basis).

1st think you should drink plenty of water, take small amount of meal 4- 5 times rather than heavy meal 2-3 times. Exercise is best option to stay fit and also for weight loss like running, cycling, swimming etc.

Try zumba . its so much fun . if you feel self conscious about doing zumba in a class then go on On Demand or YouTube and learn some routines and do them three times a day. i lost alot of weight by only eating fruits and veggies for breakfast and lunch, since my family eats alot of meat for dinner. dont snack and if your watching tv do a couple leg lifts or crunches on the comercials. i am about your age so i know how you feel. just stay motivated! good luck ?

Eat healthy, and ONLY EAT WHEN YOU ARE HUNGRY!!! If you get the urge to eat out of boredom, go and run, run, run! Run at least once a day. Join a sport! I play rugby, tennis, i horseback ride, and do karate. I like to have fun! When you're home alone blast the music and dance around! Thats what I'm doing and it's working really well!

Running is only good for weight loss if you do it every day for the rest of your life... otherwise it lowers your metabolism, which will make you gain weight... slower exercises with foods with low calories will help keep weight off by increasing metabolism and your core temperature

many people want to lose weight. so do I. in order to do that, i think i can do the following things. first, i should exercise everyday, such as running, skipping, swimming, and so on. then i shouldn't have nuch meat, instead, i should eat more fruit and vegetables so that i can lose fat. Of course, i can drink some soup before having dinner, ecause it can make me feel full, and then i can eat less. i think it's a good way.

you have to eat meat for protein or your muscles cannot repair and strengthen. also in girls the iron in red meat is especially necessary when they start their periods or they could get anemic.

2 weeks is not ideal, maintaining general fitness all year is the best way to feel good about yourself. i suggest eating healthy and cardio to lose weight. do not stop eating!! because the second you go back to eating normal you'll get it right back plus it is very bad for you and makes you cranky and unhappy. mix up your cardio with running, intense biking, swimming (laps not floating) or anything that makes your breathing increase. if you want to tone your muscles too then nothing beats crossfit (look it up)

for me i do : running 2 x a week for 2 hours, drink lots of water, eat gradually, treat yourself a once a week all-you-can-eat night out, and have plenty of sleep. it helps me a lot and hope it will help you too. " )

I read this article from the website Policy Online blog about drinking ruby red grapefruit and thought it was crazy nonsense. I had to give it a try. Ruby red grapefruit juice and as the article said did make me lose weight and slept better at night. It was about 10 pounds in 2 weeks. I also did NOT eat after 8 pm and stopped eating snacks. All of the diet and exercise is great, but you probably need a great motivator as well. If you have an iphone i suggest the app "Lose it" it tracks everything you eat if you put it in and will make you a calorie budget, you can also enter exercises that you do to see how much more you can eat. Its Great!!!

You?re still very young so it should be no problem losing the weight. You need to make sure you eat well and get some exercise in at least once every day. Low carb dieting (http://www.dukandiet.com/) is usually very effective in losing weight, so try to eat smaller portions of carbs (rice, bread, pasta) and eat more of healthy veggies, fruits and meats, chicken, seafood and eggs. Drink lots of water and get enough sleep. You should be good in no time!
