It depends on what you are looking for in a knife. Gerber makes some good knives, but Benchmade and Kershaw are definitely in a separate class. they both use the highest quality steel in their knives like ATS-34 or AUS-8 or VG-1 depending on what purpose the knife is intended for. Benchmade I believe gas more " high end" and higher priced products than Kershaw, but all knives from both companies are excellent, high quality products. From personal experience I know that Benchmade has amazing customer service and in most cases, will sharpen, replace or repair their knives for little or no money, for life. long answer, sorry
Personally, I think the benchmade knives are better as reviews suggest. The knives are of a good quality and have a better fit and finish compared to the Gerber Kershaw ones. The decisions depends on what you want to use either of the knives for, but I would definitely go for the benchmade one.
