According to the Church of Scientology's website: Developed by L. Ron Hubbard, Scientology is a religion that offers a precise path leading to a complete and certain understanding of one?s true spiritual nature and one?s relationship to self, family, groups, Mankind, all life forms, the material universe, the spiritual universe and the Supreme Being.
According to urbandictionary: Basically its a falsetto 'religion' in which eternal happiness is attained by donating all of your money to the leaders.
Founded by L. Ron Hubbard as a way to scheme money and make a fast buck off his books. One of the 'holiest' days in this religion is Hubbard's birthday.
Because most celebrites such as Tom Cruise and John Travolta are too stupid to realize it, they belong to this group.
Scientology teaches that humanity is basically good, albeit confused about our godhood. Through knowledge (gnosticism) and training, humanity can once again be perfect and powerful. Christianity teaches that humanity cannot free itself from sin, and salvation can only come through the grace of God in Jesus Christ. From the Christian viewpoint, Scientology is a modern Pelagian heresy, mixed with gnosticism, spiritism, legalism to the nth degree, with no grace, no mercy, and 100% works. Scientology teaches that each man is as god, already possessing eternal existence, capable (through Hubbard's technology) of becoming totally free. From the Christian viewpoint, Scientology is Satanic in origin.
A religious group founded by a great Astronomer named L Ron Hubbard, hes belief is not that we evolved here we where from another planet and placed here to populate earth. If you believe we our beginnings are extra-terrestrial then that is your choice.
A cult. Give them your money. Cut off all others who are not Scientologists. You can move mountains with your mind. And from what former members complain mostly about: they are paranoid & tend to spy on their own members "for their own safety". A cult.
why does religion involve money, and rich celebrities? are they going to heaven then? Is money not everything these days.......or are we born rich in spirit.......or just get lucky and make movies....then join a celebrity cult! I have to save money for my health insurance.

Scientology is a complex topic and the "religion" has been banned in France and other counties. It is a combination of several superstructures designed to disguise its true nature. These three structures together are, admittedly, inventive and effective, and unfortunately growing.
Superstructure one, personality cult built up around L. Ron Hubbard. Superstructure two, Pyramid scheme involving a slew of books, jewelry, and "progress" though their ranks. Superstructure three, Ponzi scheme where new member donations fund further expansion and the mechanisms of control, such as private investigators and monitoring of members. This will of course, one day, collapse in on itself. This is partly the reason the "church" can be found to be buying up real estate around the world in an attempt to become... too-big-to-fail.
Every time the "religion" is on the news or a documentary it is negative. There are many reasons for this fact. Though any Scientology member will not have access to this thread/question because the members are REQUIRED to install internet filtering software on their computers. Fact.
Xenu.net is their most hated website, as it exposes what is behind their "wall of fire." This is, as denied above, that prehistoric man was brought to Earth by an alien race and its head, xenu. This is true. Not simply the butt of jokes and cartoons but the nuts and bolts of the Scientology "faith." This is, of course, not revealed until the member has spent ridiculous amounts of money. After one has reached a certain level, i. e. brainwashed.
Check out info on xenu and you'll quickly find that this is not a mainstream religion friendly group. They hunt new members like some people hunt deer. They have to to survive.
Trusting a Scifi writer to lead you to some kind of enlightenment is fool-hearty at best. Just a matter of time before thugs from the higherups come around and try to censor all of these comments like mine and Emmap33l. Just wait...
Additionally suspect are the practices of using e-meters and the hidden recording of what amount to confessions on audio and video of members divulging their inner most secrets. Imagine for one moment if the Catholic church recorded the confessional booth... Outrage! Protests! Investigations. However, this does not occur with this alleged religion. The "church" has been said to use these tapes to blunt force control the membership as with a cudgel.
Firstly the e-meters are lie detectors and though the cult decries psychology as fraudulent, they engage in faux-psychology with these devices as they repeatedly ask pointed questions. Still yet, this is not their only purpose. They are further used to detect any freewill or dissidence within the membership. Asking questions like, "Have you ever had an negative thought about L. Ron Hubbard." If this strikes you as a tactic more aligned with the now defunct soviet union, you would be correct. As with all "religions" it is a matter of control.
Beware the bringer of false hope, for they can ensnare you before you know.
Scientology is an applied religious philosophy based on the works of L. Ron Hubbard. With the basic intention to help people handle frustrating situations in life and they have many study help programs. There has been a lot of controversy created by the media and the psych institutions. But I have experienced myself that it is all untrue and it is just a good group of people working on helping others.
