What age can you have a small dog fixed?

I believe you have to wait after the first time she/he goes in heat. But I think its like 6 months or more. Try to call your nearest vet. Maybe they will be more helpful than me.

At one time, the wait time was 6 months to have a puppy fixed. We bought an English Setter and the vet recommended having her fixed at 3 months which we did. The vet said there are health advantages to having them fixed younger versus waiting for 6 months or older.

Mainly it's 6months but some waits into it is heat.

Our vet will neuter/spay after 12 weeks. The biggest advantage to neutering before the 1st heat cycle is that the cat or dog will likely never get cancers of the reproductive organs, and a female will probably never get breast cancer.

I have a female and male mini schnauzer that is NOT fixed I had 3 litters is it too late to get them fixed?

Not at all! And it's still better for her,,and will help her in the same way, even if to a lesser degree.

My dog was five months when i got her from the shelter and she was already fixed.

my dog is a 21.7 lb bichon frise and he was a year old. but he was like 7 lbs then.
