How does a baby get Its color in the womb? How would it work with parents of 2 races?

sorry if it sounds dumb im 14 and curious about how it works

Skin color is a result of certain skin cells producing pigment. This ability is controlled by several genes. If you have genes that cause pigment production your skin is darker. Because several genes are involved and each one can be in 2 or more configurations, skin can come in hundreds of shades, from very light to almost black. This is one reason that the concept of "race" is scientifically incorrect: you could line up 500 people, each with a very slightly different skin color from the next one; there is no point where you could pick two adjacent people and say "this one is white and that one is black."

It just does it the only thing I can say. When black babies are born they don't have a dark color. It takes a little while.

The pigment genes mix with each other (mother father) and produce the latter. (ex, white gene dominant over black gene, white mother black father black baby or vice versa )

Genes that produce pigment are dominent over genes that do not, so genes for colored skin are dominant over "white" genes. However, because there are several genes that interact, its not a simple thing to predict the outcome from any two people. In fact, the same two people can have children with different skin colors.

Children inherit a random mix of several skin color genes from both parents. These genes control both the initial color of the skin and how the skin responds to exposure to sunlight.

The end result is "incomplete dominance", where the skin color is a result of the mix.
