If you want to connect wirelessly to your Internet, yes you do need a wireless router. You can connect with a wired router but you would have to use an Ethernet cable and it wouldn't be wireless. same with the wireless printer. you can connect to it by USB or be wireless. hooking that up is simple, just follow the step by step instructions in the box.
As far as what to buy, you can go to best buy and they will help you pick one out. just tell them that you need a wireless router.
This is assuming you have dsl or cable Internet service. also sometimes your ISP will provide a combo modem/wireless router. if its that then you don't need another one. if it's just a modem, you do.

If you mean "to connect to internet" no, you don't need wireless router. If you are asking about the printer , since it is wireless, not sure. But....I have wireless mouse, I just plug in a device to usb plug in.
The laptop will connect to ethernet cable and modem then modem to phone line. Modem is supplied by ISP. like AT&T

You will have to buy a wireless router... Hook it up to the modem in your house.... Configure the router.... Connect to the router from your laptop....BOOM wireless internet.... You can get a wireless router at wal mart or online... Most of them come with instructions so the average user can set it up ..... Router will be your best bet

If the laptop is new then the wireless network connections should be where you receive your signal to have Internet. The router is where the signal is being sent from. I have at&t for my Internet and there router is automatically wireless but if you have a different provider there's may not be; and which you would have to get one and just add it to the one provided by your Internet provider. I suggest Belkin or Netgear but you can also use Linksys. Good luck
