Why weren't dinosaurs or dinosaur bones mentioned in any science books (or any other books for that matter) before the early 1840s??? (Maybe because that is when the word was made up?!). - It doesn't take a rocket scientist, or any kind of scientist to figure that out : )
Perhaps it had something to do with the irrelevance that the dinosaurs had on ancient society's, think about it, if we knew nothing about these ancient beasts would our lives be any the worse or better, i think not. So dont use this question to prove any theory you have of the truth of the Bible, Dinosaurs are only important to some goofy Professor looking for a grant.
Aside from the simple reason that the Bible is not an exhaustive encyclopedia but a book of man's redemption to God, the absence of a word or subject does not in any way discredit the authority or reliability of the Bible. As dkks says, the word 'dinosaur' is relatively recent in origin. Other words that may have been used to describe animals we might categorize as dinosaurs are mentioned in the Book of Job. Those who are truly interested will know where to find them.
I am more concerned about what is in the Bible than in what isn't. I will have all of eternity to pick God's infinite mind about everything; and still there will always be more to learn.
