Should I move in with my boyfriend of 4 years even though we're not getting married?

I am 23 and have been with my boyfriend for 4 years. We both have stable jobs and are responsible and are willing to divide all costs evenly. I want to move out (I am finally able to because I have "real" job with a solid income because I recently graduated. He's been moved out since high school. We plan to get married someday but not yet. We are thinking about moving in together, but my parents are religious and this will cause tension between us and them, but I know we're ready. What do you think?

Sure. Better to see now if you can make it together than end up divorced later. Living with someone is NOTHING like dating them

But just moving in with someone is nothing like being married to them, either.

However, they know we are already doing that. I have not lied about this, and stay over his house several nights a week.

I would definitely try it out... if there are any problems in your relationship they will happen when you are at close quarters 24/7, better you find out now rather than after you've made a commitment. Also, this is not your parents relationship, respect them, but only do what you think is best for you. Often you won't be able to please everyone.

Living in a committed relationship is entirely different than living in a non-committed one. In the former there are incentives for working out problems that there isn't in the latter. As for what your parents think: it is your relationship, not theirs. Be respectful of their feelings, but do what you and your partner feel is best for you.

Think clearly about your decision what your decision might be because life is never easy. Moving Is a big step, take one step at a time. But never hurry on a quick decision.

No, studies show that significantly more problems and breakups occur when people do this. When religious groups that are extremely at odds with each other happen to agree on something, it's true surprisingly often.
