Sympathy and empathy are great traits to have... But not feeling guilt for a accident you didn't cause honey ;)

It is normal to feel bad, but you should not. This is because it is not your fault and he agreed to come, because he cares about you. What you should do, is help him get through the accident. Accidents happen all the time.

Feel bad about them getting in the accident, of course (I feel bad when I hear about someone getting injured or anything). Blame yourself? No.
You didn't cause the accident, and if they blame you that is really messed up. In my experience, people who are willing to go out of their way to do something like pick you up when you need a ride are not going to be the kind of people who would blame you if something bad happened like this.

Interesting question. My immediate reaction is "Hell no" but then I stopped and thought: "Hmm, what type of person could this be asking this question? Is it the type of frequently overbearing personality that demands that a friend say "How high" when you tell, (ahem), ask them to jump? Did you get on the phone in either a demanding or super whiny "Oh-woe-is-me" voice where the person felt compelled to "rescue" your ass right away? If the answer is yes, then yeah, maybe you SHOULD feel bad. But if your friend is the type that can't even push a Tonka truck without crashing it, then maybe you shouldn't feel too bad.

The accident would have happened anyway. If it was his fault then he was not driving defensively. You should not feel guilty and I hope he does not blame you.
