i went into a store on a hot day..my daughter & her friend were in the very back of our SUV so u couldnt see them & our dog was in there too...however we left the vehicle running with the air ON.....our truck is so quiet u cant even hear it running....and ppl were prob thinking the same thing about us...in fact we got looks as we approached our car...yet the dog wasnt even panting......other ppl as u describe...just dont think i guess.

I was just talking about this the other day with the gf. I don't get it either.i mean I do it,(two minutes or less,and in sight if it's the kids) but I've seen dogs sit in a car for over an hour before at home depot.just baking away. I actually called the cops,and they popped the door.

Convenience. Some people aren't very smart. Others aren't very nice. When you combine the two you often get pets/kids locked in hot cars. These people should lose custody of their pets/kids, but the government has more important things to do with its resources; like regulating the size of soft drinks, or toilet bowl tanks.
Don't put your fist through the wall, put a crowbar through the car window and save dog/kid's life! Or if you don't have a crowbar, that telescope oughta do the trick! :-)

Last Sunday we were riding in the car and my wife stopped at the store. I stayed in the car with my two boys. We'd had the AC on so the windows were up. Out of habit she took the keys with her so I couldn't put the windows down. She was in the store no longer than 10 minutes. We had to open the car doors to get a little breeze. I couldn't believe how quickly the car went from AC cool to uncomfortably warm. Less than 10 minutes! And it's a white car! Anyone who leaves helpless pets or young kids unattended in the car for any length of time is an idiot.

I'm still trying to figure out why the dog is even in the car. Wouldn't the dog be happier at home. I think of it on the same level as taking a youngster to a casino. You know that they aren't going to let them in, but in those parents minds the kids are safer locked in a car than left at home. No test to pass, no license to get to be a parent.

My dog wants to go EVERYWHERE with us. If we go even NEAR the door the dog starts having a panic attack!! So if we know we're goin somewhere that we aren't gonna be inside for too long for, then we take the dog with us, but we ALWAYS leave the windows down and the dog has water and we aren't leaving him in the car for even an hour, maybe a half hour at the most. The thing about dogs is that we all seem to think that they are somehow accustomed to having A/C or something, dog and cats and all the other animals were living in the wild without anything but shade as their savior, so to me,as long as the dog has water and the windows are down and the dog isn't in the car for 5 friggin hours, then it's all good. As far as the kid thing goes, well, parents are supposed to be their caretaker and protector, and to knwingly put them in harm's way is just unacceptable.
Most likely they're babies having babies, or don't have half a brain. My woochie doesn't ride in the truck if it's too hot, but if he does, the air conditioner is on and someone's in there with him. 8)

Call the police if you see it. It is dangerous and you may save a life. Two years ago in Lakewood, NJ. a dumb mother did just that and her children died.

My answer is late, but they are just abusive, mindless, pathetic losers who needs to have the same done to them and OH sorry this would not calm you down uhmm think of a happy place your own very happy place that suits you, count to 10 while taking deep breaths in and out, or just have a hobby that keeps you busy when you are mad like me I go walking or listen to music.
