Is the quote "I can not be responsible for your blood on my
hands." like a common greeting for Pentecostalism?

I'm just wondering if it's in their bible or if a person on ask was just saying that without a scripture to back it up? I had it said to me and was wondering if I should be alarmed or just write it of as a shallow comment or friendly banter?

If God prompts our heart to offer the Good News of Jesus Christ to a fellow man and we rebel and don't do it, then we are held accountable to God, for not sharing the information that Jesus loves that person and tell them about the salvation plan of Jesus Christ. Also, if we are a hindrance to people by our behaviour, attitudes and other aspects of our lives, we again will be accountable to God for this in behalf of anyone that we hinder, or have become a stumbling block to , thus making it harder for that person to come to know the Love of Jesus. So, this phrase in meaning, illustrates what I just mentioned. The Truth that Jesus loves All Mankind, and God sent His Son to the Cross for EACH INDIVIDUAL is reason to believe that we could be responsible if we fail to be or say what the Lord would so desire because He loves this person as much that doesn't know Him as He loves each of us.This statement, actually means that we could be held accountable for the spiritual safety of the person we failed if it hinder ed the person enough to keep them from wanting Jesus, or if we didn't tell them of salvation.

I might add that I have thought this myself concerning my children and grandchildren when I examine things about my own life. I do not want to hinder my family and of course, I love them dearly. But, I still realize that I will answer to God (be held accountable) for how I act and live in their presence and for what I say to them. It isn't a phrase of hate, instead, God loves each individual so intimately and sincerely, that He holds us accountable in their behalf when it relates to us and how we treat them, or even think about them.

Magdalene: what would your reaction be, if a Jew were to "insist" that he's assigned by his god to preach this good news, that you MUST believe in their god? And that, if u dared to reject the good news & his ONE TRUE god, then you were to be eternally doomed, while he'd be rewarded for preaching this good news to u? What if he further went on to threaten you that he will testify before his god on the day of judgement that he gave u the good news of this god, which you instantly rejected? Please tell me, what if this went on for day after day & ceaselessly?
Report as

He wouldn't have to testify to God, because God would be confronting Him.(or confronting me, as it were vice versa). God will have the floor and I will be the listener, and I don't mean that smart alectly. And, I don't mean to be rude, but I would know that if someone told me day after day to serve a god that wasn't the God of the Bible, that it would be false and I would just love the person and excuse myself from his belief.

Don't you suppose that there are billions of people who can also believe and know that the bible and its god are lies and false?
Report as
magdalene
What I would suppose is that, as always is mentioned, people do and will always have the ability to choose in whom and in what, they wish to believe. So, in another's heart, yes even billions can believe in their hearts that God and the Bible are false. I do not believe God and the Bible are false and will never. But some do, yes. For me, I cling to His Word as Truth and The Only Truth. And I believe that His Truth will set men free.

Does your faith makes all other faiths false?
Report as
magdalene
No, my faith does not make all other faiths false! But the Person of Jesus Christ does. His Heavenly Father, God and The Holy Spirit and The Word of God do make all other faiths false. He is the ONLY True and Living God There is No God beside Him. There are false gods whom people lift up and images and imaginary things as well as worshipping man and self. But there is ONLY ONE TRUE GOD and Him do I serve. There is no debate.
Report as
I am not trying to argue nor trying to be disrespectful; but doesn't the non-Christians claim the same for their gods? Just as u call all the other gods as false, so does all others call Jesus & his father false too!! They say so upon equally (if not more) founded authority as you do. Even the savage followers claimed the same FOR their gods & AGAINST all other gods, didn't they? Let's not forget that every follower, as a rule, calls his god as the ultimate TRUE GOD. For the simple reason that they can't afford to say otherwise!
Report as
magdalene
I suppose they probably do, yes. And that's ok. But, I have the evidence in my life and in my heart and also the witness of The Holy Spirit of God. His Word bears witness to His Word, His Spirit bears Witness to His Word. And, God, The Holy Spirit, And The Word, and Jesus, The Living Word are all in agreement. That is all the Proof I need. No other god can do that. And, I'll serve and proclaim no other! So, what claims there are otherwise that may be made are just simply irrelevant to me. It's not even something that I feel I have to apologize for, it simply is what I mentioned. And, at the same time, I hold fast to the understanding that all men are allowed to choose whom they will serve and it does not have to be that they choose Jesus, as that is their right and I do see it as their right. So, it takes away nothing from me as far as my belief, and adds nothing either. I sincerely care about the people, just no other belief system for myself, other than Jesus and Him Alone. I know in my heart, I will remain that way forever.

I have made no personal attack which is why this is unjust. How can my words of no hatred for humans at all, and in fact love for them so great I would forsake all holy books, inspire them to kill me?! I guess all thats left to do is carry the cross to ask.com!

If you will go back to our discussion you will see that it was no way a threat on your life as OlkaJa says.I am very sorry that it sounds that way. It however is not found in the bible. It means that I have told you what I felt to tell you now you can not say that you have not been told that I am clear of your soul when I stand before Jesus someday. I have done as I have been told and now you are free to decide what you want. It says in the bible that we will be judged by the knowledge that we was given. To whom much is given much is required Luke 12:48. Again I am very sorry.

I want to accept your apology. I am not a mean person. I just don't take it well when someone says they are absolved of the sin of having my blood on there hands. I have never felt such a profound level of hatred directly from a person by this comment. If you want to tell me I am not right and delusional that is your perogitive but when you tell me its fine my blood is on your hands is when I start to think your faith is not so good for the society we are moving into. Perhaps it is semantics as you say but when I denote that I have told someone something I usually do not express it by telling them its ok if their blood is on my hands because my dogma says so.

AJM: It is infamous to threat people with Jesus' damnation while no proof has yet not been established, whether we at all shall stand before Jesus or not. To suppose one is saved only for his ability to have faith in ghosts & ghouls, while all others are to be doomed for not being able to subscribe to such superstition, is not only credulous but also profane. It's not also necessary to suppose that everyone ought to be a believer only for the fear of pseudo eternal damnation. You ought also to accept the fact, that some people choose to use their brains, instead of relying on your bible & belief.

Hiya, truth!
I think the writer may be saying that he doesn't want to be responsible for you rejecting salvation. The blood on the hands bit appears to be saying he doesn't want the responsibility for your rejection. Which is odd, because I think it was presumed your rejection was a priori.

I think Jesus said, "if they will not receive you, as you leave the house shake the dust off your feet." This is slightly different from washing your hands, but it's a similar metaphor.

Don't be mad bro me and this miser go way back. He's like blood that you hate but know is great. I'd marry into his family just to be irritated by his presence. Besides, though he may be a reptile about some things one thing is for sure and that is he is not a greedy man with his pearls. The wisest of people see it as no effort to cast before swine. Only the lowest have so little they do not share.

If it was in your ability to save someone from drowning, would you? The right thing to do would be to help save their life otherwise you could be held accountable....John 17:3 says This means everlasting LIFE, their taking in KNOWLEDGE of you, the only true God, and of the one whom you sent forth, Jesus Christ. The bible contains life saving knowledge. When Jesus' followers preach they are trying to help save your life. Matthew 24:14 says This good news of the kingdom will be preached in all the inhabited earth for a witness to all the nations, and then the end will come. At Matthew 28:19 Jesus said Go therefore and make disciples of people of all the nations. If Jesus' followers don't preach they could be held accountable or blood guilty. Psalms 55:23 says But you yourself, oh God, will bring them down to the lowest pit. As for blood guilty and deceitful men, they will not live out half their days.

Do you ever consider the fact that the Jews, Muslims, Hindus, Buddhists etc, all claims the same ONE TRUENESS of their gods as you claimed for your's? And that their gods are equally backed by miracles, books, prophets, saints, sons, ghosts, spirits & sacrifices? How would u like to be systematically & ceaselessly "insisted" everyday to believe in Bhagwan, the Hindu god, the ONE & ONLY TRUE god, whose sacred scripture also says to call on the non-believers for belief to be SAVED, becaus he's the ONLY TRUE salvation?

And what you see as drowning is a delusion if this is the case. Though I may appear to be sinking to you it is with arms crossed and a contented smile on my face. My arms do not flail as those who would try to save me hallucinate. I descend with joy. My spirit is the spirit of truth and justice and is immortal, it does not need saving. I possess others freely and I can never be stamped out. Drowning to you would be but a swim to me.

These are simply hateful words purported by zealots to spread hate towards those who begs to disagree with them. These are words, heinous and savage rantings, that were devised to scare the weak & the poor, by those who is supposed to "love their enemies" & "practice compassion", in the name of a "most loving" Christ & in the purpose of a "most compassionate" god!

If your were this man that sent his daughter ... You'd hang up to

I want to tell u a story/analogy about gods salvation and hell
All these people were locked up in prison because they had committed crimes and were judged to be guilty..
A man called the warden of the prison and said I'm going to give you my daughter who has never committed a crime.. You can beat her, rape her, torture her and kill her.
after that though every won that calls me and aknolowleges what my daughter has done for them can go free...
Now If you or I were the father and received a call from a prisoner that said he was innocent, justified hisself
But did NOT mention my daughters name or thank her for her sacrifice ..
What would you do immediately on the phone... .....I'd hang up

May I remind u that moral justice do not take the innocent for the guilty. To punish the innocent or sacrifice the innocent (even if someone willingly offers to sacrifice) for the guilty is pecuniary justice, not a moral one. To suppose for justice to do that is to violate the very foundation of justice. A god, who really is a god, can't act immoral. By the way, there's yet more issues to consider, like, it's severe injustice to forgive the guilty without removing the wrong from the victim.
