What does Hanging out really mean when you're talking to a female friend?

Getting to know you....
It's different now than when I grew up
My daughter is doing THE EXACT SAME THING...
I'm use to a guy asking a girl to go out and then start dating each other...
Today it seems people are "talking"
A long while bfore they "label" it..
Honestly I like that better :)

It means she wants to get to know you better. She is interested in having some type of relationship; friends or maybe lovers. Good luck.

Yea that's what I thought but apparently it meant she wanted to hook up, not that I am complaining but we chilled at the bar while I had a beer and by the time she told me what she meant it was already to late.

That's what I thought it meant but she told me that it means hooking up. I didn't know that, so we chilled while I had a beer and yea.

Hanging out with friends is just that.
You said "a female FRIEND" you didn't say anything about dating.. If that's on your mind get on with it, tell her you'd like to take her on a date.
Then as a gentleman you pay for everything maybe even buy her flowers. If she likes you you'll know..
Reading between the lines that's what your getting at right? Its not really hanging out with a friend.. I have many female friends that I would never think of dating and vise versa
Just friends.....

its like a pre-date or taking notes before a test. she wants to get to know you more before asking you out or vise versa
