It depends on the type of camp, your age, position, qualifications & experience. Folks that work the majority of full time summer camps are usually paid less, but it is offset by free room & board. Day time programs are basically a 9 to 5 jobs, and are more like babysitting jobs. Boyscouts for example have numerous camps running through the summer. The staff is a mixture of adults, experienced scout & inexperienced scouts. At age 13 & 14 they work for free but room & board are covered & their training is free, After age 14 they're paid. YMCA & plenty of other organizations run camps, many have the usual staff-cooks, counselors, medical, instructors, life guards etc. The more experience you have, the more qualifications you have make everything better for you. Most kids really enjoy working the camps because they're making money, have a position of responsibility, are trained, get to hang out and have fun, learn useful skills, & no mom and dad.
