1 John 3:4 Whosoever committeth sin transgresseth also the law: for sin is the transgression of the law.
The command is given to not do it is in the Law of Moses, which is spelled out in the first five books of the bible. Which Leviticus is one of them.
Leviticus 20:13 If a man also lie with mankind, as he lieth with a woman, both of them have committed an abomination: they shall surely be put to death; their blood shall be upon them.
Romans 1:27 And likewise also the men, leaving the natural use of the woman, burned in their lust one toward another; men with men working that which is unseemly, and receiving in themselves that recompence of their error which was meet.
Well to god and the bible yes and I know this may make god sound bad but It's the truth god made men and women to be together not man and man or woman and woman. No I don't hate against homosexual people but if someone asked me if I thought it was a sin I'd say yes. I may got some hate for this but Yes Homosexuality is a sin whether people like it or not. Some people that say they are christian and that they approve homosexuality because they are christian but if they really were christian they would know that it's wrong.
Yes. It is. Not only christianity but every religion claims it as a sin, from hinduism to islam. God made man to be with woman. Otherwise he'd have made only man or only woman. By the way, its people's choice.
It is a sin and if you think about it the whole thing goes against nature anyway. Not a lot of people are going to like this but there is a mental problem in everyone so just keep an open mind. I strongly believe there is some kind of mental disorder that causes people to feel uncomfortable in the body they were born into. This is also supported by a man who went through a sex change and became a woman. She is a model (can't remember the name right now) and was on Ellen one time where they showed a picture of her modeling while she still hadn't had the surgery to remove the male parts. She even said it right there and I think she even named the condition she spoke of but I can't remember.
I have friends who are of different sexual orientations. Some of them who are gay are even Christian, though I've always wondered if they ever consider confessing the sin of their livelihood at all. I watch Ellen (when I can - housemates like to hog the tv all day) and she is hilarious. Just because someone does choose to sin doesn't mean they aren't good people.
How can it be a sin when such a sizable percentage of the world's population is gay? If you're religious, then you believe that God made us all. Why would God make so many different kinds of people, if there's only one correct way to be? You have to make the decision for yourself about what you believe is sinful and what isn't. There are those who will tell you that the Bible is the only source of truth; there are others, like me, who disagree. Personally, I think the only real sin is hurting another human being on purpose. Ultimately, you'll have to decide what you believe.
What an atrocious god isn't it? This concept of 'sin.' Sin lumps cheating on your wife, raping someone, murder, and SODOMY all in the same category. Imagine if our legal system behaved like this. It would be as abominable as the bible would it not? A man sentenced to death for kissing another. Truly the demagogue of the times painted as a god in the bible was not a very progressive one and was not so honest with self or just. Would you kill a man for murdering your family? How about for kissing another man? It's all in the wretched dogma books and it is considered a 'sin.'
Yes, indeed not in the eyes of many people, but it is in the eyes of God. But only between two men, not between two women. As I say quite often, it applies to Jews only. Non-Jews are responsible before God only to the Noahide Laws. Those include prohibition of sexual immorality, BTW.
YES; THUS SAITH THE LORD; Leviticus 18:22 Thou shalt nor lie with mankind, as with womankind : it is abomination. Leviticus 20:13 If a man also lie with mankind as he lieth with a woman, both of them have committed an abomination: they shall surely be put to death; their blood shall be upon them. Jude 1:7 Even as Sodom and Gomorra, and the cities about them in like manner, giving themselves over to fornication, and going after strange flesh, are set forth for example, suffering the vengeance of eternal fire,
Mainstream Christianity says yes. I believe sin is an act that severs a relationship with God, the acts are manifestations of that sin. As we grow and mature in our ways of the Lord, so will our convictions. But we are given examples if how that sin manifests itself, such as lying. So if you feel convictions in doing what ever it is you plan on doing, then I recommend trying not to do it. If you don't feel those convictions, then I would think you would be fine. But the key here is you are growing and maturing in your walk with God. God bless.
Ask the Bible, and your answer is a resounding YES!! I mean, there are like two, maybe 4 verses that mention it. But we're better than the religions of our past now. And we know that people who aren't like everybody else are not necessarily evil. The Bible can't help being so hateful and bigoted: It was written thousands and thousands of years ago, when people didn't know so much about stuff.
Why was this ever a question on a spiritual page? You know the answers that u would get on here.In Genesis God destroyed Sodom and Gommorah over such an abomination. If he destroyed a whole city over this I wonder why he is not doing it to America today. People say that God is un merciful, yeah they do not have a clue to how he used to be before his son died on the cross and brought the concept of Mercy. People need to stop testing God and start seeing sin for sin as it is. There are no gray areas theres only black and white. Dont start tis stuff about well God hates people. No, actually he loves them so much that he sent his one and only son to die for people who want to do their own thing, its called sin. God is the boss whether we like it or not.Its also just common sense to be with the oppose sex.
No, in the bible, it says a man shall not lay with his fellow man. It also says, you cannot wear make up, perfume, get a divorce, and many other things. If people ignore all of these things, then it would be hypocritical to say homosexuality is a sin.
I watched a documentary on what the Bible says about being homosexual being a sin and everything, and even though it says it is an "abomination", the theologians found that the hebrew meaning for that word is not the meaning it has now. It just meant that it was different/unusual. It was also an abomination to eat a certain type of fish, and other things, but obviously it is not so. Like I said, it does not mean it is a sin. Just meant that it was different. I personally believe that God makes people, and doesn't make mistakes. If He made someone gay or bi, then it isn't a sin.
It is a sin. Says so in the bible and a man can't impregnate a man, same with women. But, apparently God loves all of his children no matter what. If we have an understanding God then he will forgive such a small issue. Anyway, if gay men donate sperm, gay women can become fertile and the problem is solved... I guess. Might be some problems with that but... Whatever.

To Christians and followers on the Ten Commandments is definitely is. But to others, it's just another form of expressing love. --I think I'm the only one here who explains it without blurting what it is in their religion.....
Interesting discussion and OPINIONS, the bottom line is if you accept the bible and are a practicing christian, you can love the sinners and hate the sin. There is no question on what the bible says. Not condemning the sin is not being true to your God. You can not pick and choose what YOU THINK is or isn't correct in the bible.
