I was bitten on my back in the waistline, about 20 years ago. It was very sore and painful for about a month, and the wound would never scab over. It remained as an open wound that wouldn't heal, so I went to the doctors and they applied a topical antibiotic cream that closed the wound within a few days. Over the course of the next few years, a tiny lump under the skin formed and gradually increased in size. It was about the size of a pencil eraser or slightly bigger. There was no pain during this time, but the lump was bothersome. I then went to amother doctor, who injected a local anesthetic , cut open the area and remoced the sebacious cyst that was created by immune system to encapsulate the venom/bacteria. She was successful in removing it, but I now have a scar that is a darkened patch of skin. If you think you have been bitten, seek medical attention. If you are looking for home remedies, apply honey 'anuka honey is the best, but hard to find unless you order online...it kills strep and staph bacteria, MRSA, heals open wounds and cuts very quickly) and can prevent the cyst from occurring like it did for me? Problem is, I didn't know about manuka honey at that time. I use it all the time now...it is amazing. In the meantime, use a regular honey, apply to wound and cocer with bandages. Reapply every 12-24 hours.
