Folks think that the southern states are full of rednecks. The speech is slower, everyone drives The Beverly Hillbillies truck. Everyone is an inbred moron living in the swamps, with big buck teeth & line dancing at a local honky tonk wearing their overalls. But they're wrong-I graduated from Bama, & I'm fairly intellectual.

For one thing, some of the great rocket engineering was done in Huntsville. Since being a rocket scientist is a synonym for being very smart, obviously not everyone who lives in the state can be stupid! ;) And you know, I know that many southerners have an equally dim view of northern city-folks. Call it a clash of two different cultures. I know that we Californians are stereotyped by the rest of the country as a bunch of airheaded surfers, nuts, or movie star types, when nothing could be further from the truth.
Alabama is awesome! I myself live in Tuscaloosa, Alabama. However, I was born in Annapolis, Maryland. As I have told SO many other people, life down here is so good! Everybody is so friendly, and I'll bet anyone from out of state that if they come here, they too will see what it is that I see. ROLL TIDE ROLL!!!
