We have overgrown pine trees that we trimmed back. The bottoms are dead. Should we cut off the dead branches or will they grow back?

Hi im an arborist. When you say the bottom is dead you mean the bottom of the tree or the bottom of the branches? And if a branch is dead or rotted it deffenetly has to be cutted off completely to the trunk. They wont come back to life. I reccoment you call a tree company for this work. Its super dangerous specially a pine

it is normal for a pine trees lower limbs to die without enough sunlight and room for them.....you can safely trim the lower limbs and they are not likely to try and regrow....and in most cases it will cause the tree to grow taller faster

If you mean the dead branches, they should be cut down since there is no way they can grow back to life. You should actually remove them immediately you notice them. This will help the pine tree to grow well. Read more at http://www.ehow.com/info_8450939_remove-dead-branches-pine-trees.html.
