How do you teach a society to care about itself, to not be indifferent towards other's problems, & to do what feels right in their hearts?

hmmmm?

Equality of shared sacrifice.

When some are born "more equal" than others then there will always be dissent and resentment of those who have the more than others.
I coined the term "artificial empowerment". Social Darwinism dictates that the strongest and smartest will receive the most benefit from a society but that is a false assumption that political scientists cannot overcome. 'Artificial empowerment" dictates that the "playing field" is not "reset" when a person is born. Nepotism, favoritism, and inherited wealth, as well as location of birth can all dictate a persons standing in society. By the structure of Social Darwinism someone like George Bush or Dick Cheney should not rise to the heights of wealth and power because they were not the smartest or the strongest. The best person to be president or leader could be a black girl born in Mississippi, but due to circumstances of birth, that opportunity may never arise for such a person. The "cream" does not rise to the top as suggested. It is already born there.Until we get rid of large inherited fortunes, disparities in health care and education, and bigotry, society, and mankind, in general will never reach utopia.

Communism has failed every time it's been tried. It always leads to the deaths of thousands if not millions. There goes that utopia you're searching for.

u can't really teach a society anything. look how long after slavery ended for blacks to be treated equal by law (let alone real life treatment). jus try and and affect those near you and hopefully a chain reaction will occur. hopefully...
