Hp officejet j4580 will not print. It says "printer not connected", but it is. This started when I reset my computer to factory default.

Printer is shown as the default printer, but won't work. I upgraded HP, and used the install disk, and it still won't print. How can I fix this?

The reason your HP office jet J4580 may not be printing could be due to corrupt printer drivers or missing drivers as they may have been deleted when you restored your computer to factory default. If the drivers you have are not working, you can download others online at http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/softwareCategory?cc=us&lc=en&dlc=en&product=3645100.

I am a little confused, so if you haven't done so, download the latest driver from the HP web site and give that a try.

Ohhh..don't ya just hate printer problems? I remember not to have the printer connected before the driver was installed. I don't know why that mattered, but it did. Power down the printer, install the driver, power up the printer. It can't hurt.

Yeah, I tried everything. It's still saying it's not connected. But it's installed, it scans, it prints test pagest through HP. But Anything else, it's says it's not connected.
