There are a variety of ways to break a high fever. One way is to take a cool bath. Along with that, you'll also want to take something like aspirin to bring down your fever. If you prefer to not take a cool bath, you can get in bed and pile on the blankets. If your temperature gets too high and won't break, you need to get to a doctor.
Fever is a good response/sign that your body recognizes something as foreign in your body (i.e. virus, bacteria) and is fighting it. As long as the fevers are not generally higher than 102-103 (which then puts you at mild risk of seizure), fevers are O.K. You can take tylenol or ibuprofen (or both together) to reduce the fever.
