I have a filtered water bottle and i went to go drink gr it and the water tasted horrible and the filter smelled
Bad like garbage cont below

what is that? whatshould i do about it and if its mold how do i get it out and i was wearing invisalign while drinkiing it is it still okay to wear them? im worried theres mold

Like any filter .. it has to be changed regularily..If you haven't changed it or maintained it properly you water is being contaminated . Depending on the quality of the filter, it can collect bacteria and impurities .. so over time, they become concentrated in the filter, and if you don't properly maintain it, those impurities will re contaminate the water flowing through it.

Get your water tested, perhaps your water source is contaminated, and filtering it is simply not good enough. Filters can only do so much (and they vary in quality of the filtering process) .. most remove impurities only in partical form .. they don't works so well for bacteria.

boil it in hot water and it should kill all mold. I would wash it wvery couple of days to prevent that. It's gross, but you probably wont get sick. Everytime your mouth touches the bottle, it leaves behind a little bacteria and germs, and until theyre washed away, they'll continue to grow and get more putrid.
