Any good suggestions or tips for setting up a garage sale?

I always do it when my neighbors are having one, (they put ads in the paper) They have a huge one once a year. Works for me!! I also sell bottled water, and cans of pop. Ladders work well as displays, put a broomstick between 2 for a place to hang clothes. If you have some free stuff ( I like to give little toys, and knickknacks) or even really cheep stuff, put a big sign on it, but, place it in the back, that way they see it, but have to walk by everything else to get to it!!;-)) GOOD LUCK!! also, smile and engage in chit chat. And Have change, ones, quarters...etc Have Fun!!

Get permission from your village hall. Post signs everywhere. Then set up the garage sale attractively to look like a garage sale, not a garbage sale.
Oh, if someone wants something for a lower price, give it to them. Bargain, but not too much. Or else they leave. I never went to a garage sale actually.

Put plenty of big signs up that span several blocks and have plenty of good merchandise

Signs, lots of them and advertising. The more people you attract the more you will sell. Also, do not price your items but ask for offers instead. Many times people will offer more than you would ask. When this is not the case, it gives a starting point for negotiating. When you price your items, people will always offer less. Let them make the starting price point.

you should put your address in the newspaper and saying you are having a garage sale and a lot of people love garage sales and they will come keep low prices and nice stuff that are just slightly used
