The Bible is wrong on a LOT of things. Im not sure if it says to kill them, but if it does, something is wrong somewhere, its OK to be Gay. Everyone should be treated equally.
Don't confuse what the Bible says .. with an interpretation of what the Bible says.
Lev. 20:13, "If there is a man who lies with a male as those who lie with a woman, both of them have committed a detestable act; they shall surely be put to death. Their bloodguiltness is upon them"
I'm not sure if there's any other way to put it.
The Christian Bible has many versions .. that's why there are so many versions. The transferrance in interpretation from Hebrew to English.
It's still primarily a matter of interpretation.
.
So what I'm trying to say is, christians who are against homosexuality (solely because of what the Bible says about it) also would have to agree that the writers of the Bible DID think homosexuals should be put to death.
.
What I mean is, I do not think it would be right for a christian to hang on every word the bible says about homosexuality, but if it's something that goes against basic morals (such as the killing of someone only because they're gay) then they excuse that with "well the Bible's been translated so many times, I'm sure THAT was just a fluke!" That would be very hypocritical, in my opinion.
So which is it going to be? Who chooses which is the one we follow? .. This is from the SAME book .. a King James Version of the Bible .. There are many version of the bible which mention the same text.
Once again this inspires an argument of 'interpretation' .. the difference of what is said literally and figuratively.
Can you say specifically what the Bible says in this regards?
For this cause, God gave them up to dishonorable affections. For even their women changed the natural use into that which is against nature.
And likewise also the men, leaving the natural use of the woman, burned in their lust toward one another; males with males working out shamefulness, and receiving in themselves the recompense which was fitting for their error.
And even as they did not think fit to have God in their knowledge, God gave them over to a reprobate mind, to do the things not right, being filled with all unrighteousness, fornication, wickedness, covetousness, maliciousness; being full of envy, murder, quarrels, deceit, evil habits, becoming whisperers, backbiters, haters of God, insolent, proud, braggarts, inventors of evil things, disobedient to parents, undiscerning, perfidious, without natural affection, unforgiving, unmerciful; who, knowing the righteous order of God, that those practicing such things are worthy of death, not only do them, but have pleasure in those practicing them.? Romans 1:25-32
They stoned people if they were caught in adultery. But Jesus said "who is without sin, may he throw the first stone..."
In the New Testament, Paul was talking about death as in hell. Death of their souls and minds to the truth. That's why they say, "we died in sin, but came back to life in Christ."
God never changed his mind. See this is the reason y'all ask these questions; y'all don't read or understand the Word correctly. Stop trying to find "the bad side" of things. Jesus gave us a new covenant which changed the older one cuz the older one was prophesying His coming. It was readying the path for him. Thus God said to kill those who were idol worshippers and who sacrificed their children. God tried and kept His people pure from immorality by setting such strict rules.
You must be reading the wrong version No bible would say to kill another human being gay str8 or other
"For this reason he is the mediator of a new covenant, since a death has occurred for the redemption of the transgressions that were under the first covenant, that those who have been called may receive the promise of the eternal inheritance."
Hebrews 9:15
God made a new covenant with us through Christ's death and doesn't need murder or killing anymore. "Jesus died for all." Don't underestimate the power of that saying.
"Kill gays for a bit fir soon you shall not be allowed to"
What a git!
Well go created for man and a woman for a marriage together. Not gay marriages and God didn't create homosexuals it was there choice to become one! God gave us a choice to love him so it wasn't a forced love. And for the Svetslana who commented before must not believe in him because the Bible is always RIGHT.
Good answer again, as usual...
you know the bible was written by humans right,
men actually
It's amazing isn't it?
Most christians believe gays choose to be gay (which would mean god did not create them with the intention of them being gay)
I just can't get the idea out of my head that being gay is not a choice. My wife Strongly disagrees. I think if you are gay and remain celibate , for example, you are still gay. If you are heterosexual and remain celibate you are still heterosexual. So it's not a sin until if you are gay you have sex with same sex if you take what Bible says.
Did I make any sense?
Heck, even priests can't keep it in their pants.
(what ever we call it) viewpoint.
Homosexuals are people committing homosexuals acts and God didnt create either one - the acts - the homosexuals or homosexuality -- they choose to do and choose to be and it is a sin and they are sinners .
I'm not sure if they get how ridiculous their answer is.
God created homosexuals ?
The Bible is an interpretation. That means that not all of it is right. God is right but not EVERYTHING in the Bible is.
Isn't God all forgiving? Why would the bible say to kill someone?
The Bible also says to stone adulterers too. Who wants to pick up the first one and start tossing?
The bible had been repeatedly edited and straight up rewritten many times by many different leaders to serve their own political gains. If god is really up there the bible reflects very little of what he wanted us to know any more.
God also said to execute murderers, and yet He created murderers. He gave us free will to choose good or choose evil. It is up to any one of us to decide if we are murderers, thieves, rapists, homosexuals, or anything else.
Love is the rarest thing in the universe, like a gem that stands alone, and yet we would destroy it if it can't be ours.....sad :(
God didn't create homosexuals... They made that decision themselves.
My wedding night I will chose to be hertorosexual (how ever you spell that)
The Bible does not say we can kill anyone. In fact 'Thou shat NOT kill' is a pretty big commandment in the bible
Also, God did not create homosexuality. That came about due to the sin inherent in the world. God and the bible are very clearly against homosexuality

God hates homosexuals, wants them dead, right?
So you condone that point of view.
He also digs slavery. Do you condone that too?
Shame on you if you do, hypocrite if you do not!
Seriously, I absolutely do not understand the relevance of bible teachings in this day and age.

The New Testament does not provide any physical punishment for homosexual acts. Although it is a sin to commit such acts, the only punishment will come after the final judgement, when all sinners will be separated from God and heaven. The Law of Moses was to the Jewish nation, and was laws for that nation. As such, the nation had the power to punish those who broke that law, in this case by stoning. The kingdom of Jesus, the church, is a spiritual kingdom rather than a physical one. That kingdom, then, would not have the right to impose physical penalties on its members. Even if it had that right, it would only have the jurisdiction over those who are in the kingdom. Since those who commit homosexual acts cannot be part of the kingdom (1 Corinthians 6:9-11), the kingdom has no authority to punish them. Those who are in the church who commit such acts are forgiven, and so no punishment accrues to them. Nobody, then, has the authority to stone those who commit homosexual acts today.
Kudos
I doubt the new testament is as nice as you make out though.
I've not read it for a while but there are some dodgy passages in there which raise the eyebrows
To the best of my memory hate your patents and follow me or something like that
The god of the bible has been a poor administrator & an inept creator all through his history. He relentlessly failed to right his creation. But whenever he failed to do his duty he tried to overcome his limitations by murdering his creation indiscriminately! Just as you described that he condemned & excommunicated the homosexuals for the very crime that he clearly had caused! The same reason why this same god created millions of people & murdered them by drowning all at once in a flood!!

109 Question Addressed
To ???
opened against me; they have spoken to me and against me with
lying tongues. They have compassed me about also with words of hatred and
have fought against me without a cause. In return for my love they are my adversaries, but I resort to
prayer. And they have rewarded and laid upon me
evil for good, and hatred for my love. Set a wicked man over him [as a judge], and let [a malicious]
accuser stand at his right hand. When [the wicked] is judged, let him be condemned, and let his
prayer [for leniency] be turned into a sin. Let his days be few; and let another take his office and charge. Because the man did not [earnestly] remember to show mercy,
but pursued and persecuted the poor and needy man, and the
broken in heart [he was ready] to slay. Let this be the reward of my adversaries from the Lord, and
of those who speak evil against my life. But You deal with me and act for me, O
God the Lord, for Your name?s sake; because Your mercy and
loving-kindness are good, O deliver me. I will give great praise and thanks to
the Lord with my mouth; yes, and I will praise Him among the
multitude. For He will stand at the right hand of the poor and needy, to save him from those who condemn his
life. (Psalm 109:1-8, 16, 20, 21, 30, 31 AMP)
These things are written for our learning, not for our imitation.
with having doubted that God was the author of the 109th Psalm. The portion of that psalm which carries with it the clearest & most satisfactory evidences of inspiration, and which has afforded almost unspeakable consolation to the Presbyterian Church, is as follows:
"Set thou a wicked man over him; and let Satan stand at his right hand.
When he shall be judged, let him be condemned; and let his prayer become sin.
Let his days be few; and let another take his office.
Let his children be fatherless and his wife a widow.
Let his children be continually vagabonds, and beg; let them seek their bread also out of their desolate places.
Let the extortioner catch all that he hath; and let the stranger spoil his labor.
Let there be none to extend mercy unto him; neither let there be any to favor his fatherless children.
Let his posterity be cut off: and in the generation following let there name be blotted out.
But do thou for me, O God the Lord, for Thy name's sake; because; Thy mercy is good, deliver Thou me. I will greatly praise the Lord with my mouth.
Think of a God wicked and malicious enough to inspire this prayer. Think of one infamous enough to answer it.
Had this inspired psalm been found in some temple erected for the worship of snakes, or in the possession of some cannibal king, written with blood upon the dried skins of babes, there would have been a perfect harmony between its surroundings and its sentiments.

Commentary Excerpt Psalm 109
---------------------------------------
Imprecations. -- I cannot forbear the following little incident that occurred the other morning at family worship.
-----------------------------------------
I happened to be reading one of the imprecatory psalms, and as I paused to remark, my little boy, a lad of ten years, asked with some earnestness:
-----------------------------------------
"Father, do you think it right for a good man to pray for the destruction of his enemies like that?" and at the same time referred me to Christ as praying for his enemies.
----------------------------------------
I paused a moment to know how to shape the reply so as to fully meet and satisfy his enquiry, and then said,
-----------------------------------------
"My son, if an assassin should enter the house by night, and murder your mother, and then escape, and the sheriff and citizens were all out in pursuit, trying to catch him, would you not pray to God that they might succeed and arrest him, and that he might be brought to justice?" "
-------------------------------------------
Oh, yes!" said he, "but I never saw it so before. I did not know that that was the meaning of these Psalms." "Yes", said I, "my son, the men against whom David plays were bloody men,
-----------------------------------------
men of falsehood and crime, enemies to the peace of society, seeking his own life, and unless they were arrested and their wicked devices defeated, many innocent persons must suffer."
------------------------------------------
The explanation perfectly satisfied his mind. --F.G. Hibbard
".......Let his children be continually vagabonds, and beg; let them seek their bread also out of their desolate places.
Let the extortioner catch all that he hath; and let the stranger spoil his labor.
Let there be none to extend mercy unto him; neither let there be any to favor his fatherless children."
God did not create homosexuals, they made that choice on their own but to be exact it is not really a choice. It's Adam and Eve... Not Adam and Steve
You need to check your info (I know I do sometimes, too) but please consider this:
Did you choose to be straight or were you born that way?
Is it true???
The greatest thing we all can do is to question.
Question what our parents tell us.
Question what the teachers tell us.
Question politicians.
Question whoever throws an opinion at you.
I remember when I was a kid I was told that nelson Mandela was a terrorist. Years later I thought about it and was horrified that that was the accepted opinion. Question what people tell you. It is very important
I didn't think I would have to answer such foolish questions, but ok. I see humanity is getting dumber :P
God hates the idea, not the person. He never ever said that it's ok to kill anyone. You know what the Bible says. Stop scrutinizing the Word of God. This is making you look like an idiot.
I'm sorry, I'm allergic to stupidity.
"If a man lies with a male as with a women, both of them shall be put to death for their abominable deed; they have forfeited their lives."
(Leviticus 20:13 NAB)
It's always better to learn before spewing ill-gotten arrogance. Because, at the end, knowledge always supersedes arrogance.
First of all, God didn't create homosexuals. Homosexuality is usually a mental disorder caused by an absent parent. Secondly, the Old Testament said to kill them. The New Testament says to love them but hate the sin. Don't kill them, but try to lead them in another direction with the love of Christ.
Hope this helps - Zack
@godordirt Animals have gay sex. Now some christians like to think that people are pretending to be gay for some silly reason. Now, how do you explain gay animals? It's not like they do it for pleasure; it's instinct, or nature. Animals don't decide to do it, they just do. Humans don't decide to be attracted to the same or different gender, they just are. And humans do things daily that are unnatural, yet they aren't committing a sin. For example, the curing of diseases is unnatural. Cancer is natural, yet is it sinful to cure it, in your opinion? If one cured cancer, would you find it immoral for being unnatural? Point is, gay sex being "unnatural" doesn't prove anything- unless you believe EVERYTHING unnatural is immoral. Plus, straight couples have oral & anal sex also. And even though gays can't reproduce, you and I both know that is not the only purpose for sex. If it were, bc, condoms, vasectomies, etc should be illegal, also (not to mention how unnatural all of those are!) AND the marriage of infertile women should be illegal also, since she won't be "fruitful and multiply."
pious666, Of course the Ten Commandments are from the Old Testament, so why should that mean I shouldn't believe them? Some laws change, like the law to kill men who sleep with other men, or women who sleep with other women. That law change from "kill them" to "love the sinner, but hate the sin." The ten commandments, however, didn't change. They are all over the New Testament, Jesus talked about them, Paul, talked about them, they are still the same, and still apply.
I really have to bite my lip every time I read an ignorant comment by a bible sicko. Gay people are a result of a single parent. For crying out loud. This is not good enough !
WHen the Bible refers to "death" to those who engage in such behavior, it doesn't refer to LITERAL death, but He will banish those from Heaven, and will not allow entrance to those in Heaven.
1 Corinthians 6:9- Or do you not know that the unrighteous[a] will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived: neither the sexually immoral, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor men who practice homosexuality
the bible is extremist christian propaganda, especially Leviticus, which only hardcore Catholic extremists belief e in any more.
Life is a test
And the bible is the note you use to cheat
You're answers are very considered and accurate. Kudos.
To the people that think the bible is it... Do you really think a god that says you can have a slave and beat him, if he gets up after a couple of days then, well, that's all right. It's in the bible and it is offensive. Incest is in the bible. Rape is . Giving your daughter to be gang raped to death is seen as a commendable action. You have to believe in the goodness of these examples to follow the bible. Otherwise you go against god. If you struggle with these examples morally, then the morals YOU have conflict with gods. Which means you have morals whether you read the bible or not.
Your daughter gang raped, fine ....
Well, at least she's not gay.
