I need information about red ear sliders

I just got a turtle today he is 8 months old

Read Eared Sliders require a large tank as they grow which is over 100 gallons. They also do not have a permanent diet since they shift to more herbivorous diet as they grow older. Read more on http://exoticpets.about.com/od/aquaticturtles/tp/resguide.htm.
