If your mom washes your earphones when she's doing the laundry don't you think she should pay you pack or buy you another pair?

she washed my $60 dollar earphones and she keeps saying ' what'd I say tge other day I don't check pockets ' this I the third pair she's washed

Report as

I washed a $10,000.00 ( 10 thousand ) dollar check my husband left in his pants and no I didn't pay him his 10 thousand dollars back. After a heated "discussion he realized you don't leave valuable things that are supposed to mean that much smashed into your pocket. He went and got the check replaced on his own after a lot of work. He never ever never ever did it again. Once was enough to learn his lesson . These are the things you'll face as adult when mom won't be there in the same house to blame.

Years back, I washed a sheet of paper that had all the alarm codes, safe combos, and computer passwords to the regional stores I was managing. I've never sent anything else through.

I'm glad your husband got it back, Sincerity. How are you?

And how are you two?

We are doing great. Today is the day we had the birthday celebration for me and it went great. I hope you're doing well!!

To Beth-what you washed was worth more than a 10 thousand dollar check oh my goodness!!! My husband had to drive out of town and get the check reissued from a landscape he had done because half of that check went for all the supplies.
Report as
To FIirst Born-thank you for the compliment on the nurse answer. I just don't understand how someone can EVER predict anyone's future like some do on here. You just never know when the right person will say just the right thing that will set them free or someone else say the absolute horrible thing that will end their hopes.

We went to Cheesecake Factory for brunch and had a lot of fun. My daughter gave me a really cute 8 by 10 photo of her, her new husband, and their shelter dog they adopted who is a nut and so cute. I never want a big deal for my birthday. So this was just right.
Report as
That sounds like the perfect birthday!
Report as
Guess what Marcus-I just told my husband about this Q&A and he reminded me it was a 13 thousand dollar check, not a 10 thousand dollar check. Now he can laugh about it ha ha.
Report as
He got it back, right?
Report as
Yes he got it back. He did a landscape out of town and had to drive up to Kansas to get it, but luckily they believed him. Just in case, they put a "stop payment" on the washed checked and then wrote him another one when he got up there 5 days later. When you get a check like that for doing a big landscape, just part of it is ours. We have to pay taxes, pay for all the plants, rock, dirt filled with nutrients for plants, and tons of other things out of that check and then the rest is ours. But he also brought them the check which was in pieces from his washed pants picket. It's funny now. And I think I said he apologized the next day because I was doing his muddy laundry from doing these landscapes. He has won awards from the Garden Society for his landscapes.

She's doing your laundry. Not charging you by the pound, as you would to have someone else launder your clothes? The least you can do is empty your own pockets! Or, you could always do your own laundry and charge yourself when you leave the next pair in. lol Really - what's it take to check pockets? The fact it's happened on multiple occasions shows a lack of respect for your own things, as well as towards your Mom by not taking responsibility for your own error.

Yes she does, however that does not relate to you. My parents' rules have nothing to do with yours.
Report as
point=made
Report as
annaruby
You made no point. I have an allowance, because my parents believe I deserve it, and I could use the money. You must not get an allowance because money is tight in your family, and/or your parents feel you are too lazy and disrespectful to EARN an allowance. Or possibly your parents pay for every single expense you have anyway, so that's the exact same thing as earning an allowance. What's the point in receiving an allowance if you have other people to pay for every thing you buy, anyways?

how long did it take you to come up with that?

No that's your loss sweetie. Get in the habit of checking your pockets. Or start doing your own laundry and after that what happens if u leave something in your pockets then. Will you feel like you owe you for your own mistake? It's not your mom's fault that you didn't heed her words " I don't check pockets". Sorry but that's your loss!

HA!!! You're looking for answers that are going to defend you huh??? Sorry buddy, barkin up a whole mess of wrong trees. Who should be more responsible with your property than yourself??? Do you think that people in the real world are gonna actually care about you and what you do?? If your headphones were soooooo important to you, then you should have kept better track of them and then your Mom wouldn't have washed them in the first place, and since this is the THIRD pair that has been washed then you obviously aren't that concerned about your stuff in the first place, but now you wanna try and blame your Mom for this??? My Mom would have laughed in my face if I tried to tell her she needed to replace them, but then again, this never would have happened b-cuz I always kept track of my things. So, the answer to your question is NO

I think we all agree, you need to check your pockets and take them out before you put your clothes into the laundry basket.

Then, kiss your mother and thank her for washing all of your dirty diapers when you were a baby, all your dirty clothes as a toddler and all of your clothes now. By the way, why aren't you washing your own clothes?
