Why do I keep hearing "Am" to replicate "I'm (I Am)"?

People keep saying this, I'm confused, are they grammatically correct? If not what is it that's confusing them?

No, it's not grammatically correct. "Am gunna go in them thar woods an shoot me a rascal fer supper"...Nope, not grammatically correct...

That's the funny thing about slang and poor education, there is a fine line and you can almost never tell which it is until you look a little deeper. But this sounds like pure laziness to me 8)

It may not be a fine line but a direct correlation.

Grammatically incorrect. It's either pure laziness or an utter lack of English skills.

I mean this with no disrespect, but we are not in English class, and this is supposed to be fun. Most who are on here are anywhere between 13 & 24, heck I can't understand what they are saying half the time with all the abbreviations, I have to ask my 15 year old sometimes.
