Hi Annie! Your specific OCD is called Trichotillomania. It can happen at times when you are stressing. You can see a therapist, counselor, or doctor, they might even prescribe a med to help with stress. Several things can trigger it, and they suggest training yourself to kick the thoughts out of your head that lead to this, replacing with positive. Lots of cool info.out there that can help you! If you have OCD you can live with it. Knowing you have it puts you ahead of the game. Have fun when it comes on. Sing songs related to the repeated tasks it will take the edge off. I don't recommend anyone taking any drug that is not life saving. All drugs come with side affects. If it doesn't kill you it will make you stronger.
DE-STRESS! You won't cure it but you can control it if you can control your stress. Try to find an alternative to whatever your obsessions are. If it is buying something you won't need, go to an exercise class instead, anything to divert your attention from what you really want to do .
