Why all the empty seats at the Olympics?

Report as

It's mostly due to seating being allocated to sponsors or different groups of officials who haven't used the tickets. Apparently there are negotiations to try and get the tickets these organisations aren't planning on using back into circulation.

There have been plenty of really well attended events.

The empty seats at the Olympics are due to the delay of the tickets. Different people managing the game have showed a lot of concern about the issue, and they have promised to release the tickets for sale soon.

Lowheadroom

Tickets are very expensive for good seats. The economy is in the toilet and people have better things to spend their money on, like food.

The larger events like swimming, track and field have not taken place yet.

Most of the empty seats are reserved for "bigwigs" but those sports that aren't medaling yet don't have the interest.
