My suggestion would be meditation or getting involved in a group such as a club focusing on outdoor activities or, better yet, a non-profit organization serving those in need. In other words, find something to fill your mind and your time with more fulfilling pursuits. Now this may sound weird coming from an atheist, but someone such as yourself may find relief in religion. Religion provides many people a way to make sense out of a chaotic world. I know it was a help to me at one time. Good luck.
You have a start on your problem by admitting it. The next step is discovering what triggers this stress. Everyone has stress in their life. Is there something that has happened to make you feel this way. I would listen to these nice people who are suggesting things for you.
