Any car with two doors regardless of engine size will always be a sports car. In order to not be a sports car it must have 3 or more doors.

Damn that sucks
What car would you recommend I get then?
Report as
I would look at something that is four doors but looks sporty. Preferably something foreign (Toyota, Nissan, Honda etc.) as these tend to get cheaper insurance rates. I have a Toyota Scion (2 door) 2007, I'm 31 years old, no prior driving infractions and have full coverage through Geico and pay 66 dollars a month. Not bad.

Wow that's cheap
I'm 19 and this would be my first car so my insurance will be a lot more
Report as
Yes very true. There's a lot of 4 door cars you can get that look sporty. What's your budget? You looking for something brand new or...?
Report as
No I can't afford a new car
I don't want to spend over $10,000

I like the 2009 Nissan maxims
2005 mustang
2003 mitsubishi eclipse
Report as
Go with the maxima if you're concerned with insurrance.
Report as
I wish but it cost way to much and I dont like the older models
Report as
Well you're gonna have to compromise on the price or the insurance.

Yes... sports cars regardless of what size engine they have. You want cheaper insurance?? Get 4 doors.

What car do you recommend with four doors?
Report as
Doesnt really matter which car. The insurance company see's 4 doors as safer because of the support beam for the back two doors. An older Toyota Camry or Corolla or Nissan Sentra or Altima would be decent I would think. Better gas mileage than a Mustang or Eclipse too.

Yes both are considered sport cars. Your insurance will be a little higher depending on your driving history.

A Mustang is not a sportscar it's a MUSCLE car. And an Eclipse is just a rice burner.
