Both. Definitely both. I am currently engaged in a comment thread with an adult who desperately wants attention... and I constantly see Qs that are based on sheer, ignorant laziness.

They say that theres no such thing as a dumb question. ....this site proves that wrong time and time again. If it sounds dumb to most,but is a legitimate question,fine. Everybody has those,if you don't know,you ask.
If you want to know if I think you're pregnant,or pretty,or what I think of boy bands, it's a waste. This site is being abused by children.

I'm going to give everybody above me a Green thumb because everybody is correct in their own opinions and answers.
Yes it is true some people ask questions on here because they have nowhere else that they're comfortable going. On the flipside I have found out that some people ask the most ridiculous outrageous questions just to get a rise or a laugh at the expense of people who take the time to answer their question.
Recently I answered a question that was ridiculous. I won't repeat the question out of respect for the person that asked it. This person got a lot of sarcastic and hateful answers. I was not proud of my answer either and later went back and hunted the person down in a comment and apologized for my answer. I really, really felt bad. Then I found out this person only asked the question as a joke to get a rise! On who? When I went back to investigate I found they asked the same question only worded it a little bit different ..... Again for the same reason. Boy, did I feel like a "fool."
So while the majority of the people do ask sincere questions, some of the people ask questions just for their entertainment purposes alone at the expense of others who try to be sincere. NOT COOL. :)

They probably dont mean to do it on purpose, if someone asked a question that another person thought was dumb does it make it a dumb question
