Do water pills work for fast relief of bloating due to PMS?

I'm getting married in 3 days and thanks to mother natures awesome sense of humor, I woke up this morning puffy and bloated, PMS week is here. Normally I just deal with the swelling and discomfort but I'm getting married this weekend. My wedding ring doesn't fit and my dress just looks off because of the massive swelling. My friend suggested using Diurex to get rid of the water retention. Will a water pill reduce the swelling/bloating in time for the wedding if I take it every 4 hours for the next 3 days like suggested on the package? Also, I normally drink about a gallon of water a day (it's all I drink beside 1 cup of coffee in the morning), should I increase or decrease my water intake while taking a water pill?

Water pills work fast to relief bloating due to PMS. This is because they excrete excess water which is normally passed through urine. However, you will have to take more water while taking the pills. Read more on http://www.ehow.com/about_5247307_water-pill-used-for_.html.

Thank you, but would you happen to know how quickly they work? I really
do not want to take them for longer then I have to. I'm at a lost because I find a ton of articles on how and why they work, but nada on how quickly.
