How do I delete songs off my iPod?

I have tried to delete them by taking my finger and sliding across the song from right to left and clicking delete but all it does is highlight it gray. When it turns grey, I can't do anything to it. I can't slide again or even click on it. It just turns grey,. How do I make that go away?

This songs were synced to your iPod via iTunes from your computer. The songs exist in your computer library (unless they all were bought in the iTunes store). You have to connect to your computer and delete them from your iTunes's library.

I don't know how to make that go away, but to delete songs you have to hook your iPod up on the computer. Then, go to your itunes music library, right click the song you want to delete, and it should give you an option to delete it.

You first open the iTunes. Secondly; go to Library on the far left side of the screen. Next, choose a song you would like to delete from the list and right click on it. Lastly, click delete from the drop-down menu that appears to delete your song.
