When I was 17, I borrowed this book from the library. I was huge into real crime, murder books. It's called House of Secrets, by Lowell Cauffiel. It's about a really sick deranged family. And I finished it in a day, my mom told me I was crazy. LOL. But seriously it's scary to think that families like the one in this book, REALLY do exist.

My sweet Audrina, it was one of the few books by VC Andrews I had to finish the same day I started it. The ending was so good but weird.

The Hobbit. When I got to Gandalf's death I couldn't read any further for over 2 weeks. A little like losing a casual friend.

Razors Edge by somerset maugham, oh my god what a book it was, till this date i've been wanting to live the life like the hero of that novel, which hasn’t been possible yet. And another one book is the biography of Mahatma Gandhi. Recently I read the monk who sold his Ferrari, even this is good too.
I also like “the importance of being earnest” by oscar wild

Mesmerizing in terms of plot and world-building? Easily Lord of the Rings/the Middle-Earth books, the Dune series of books (especially the older, original books), and the Dark Tower series of books by Stephen King.

Harry Potter, by JKRowling, is also a good candidate, even if there are many inconsistencies and flaws (mostly in the background).

I've heard good things about the book series' "A Song of Ice and Fire" and "A Game of Thrones", as well.

As a stand-alone book? Definitely 'The Hellbound Heart', by Clive Barker. Bit purple-prosed and heavy on the adjectives, but man, does it fucking draw you in. :)
