I got gauges. What now?

I went from a 22 gauge (normal piercing size) to a sixteen gauge. What do i do now? cleaning, care, etc...?

Take them out! Although cool now you will end up permanantly altering you body in a very visible location. In the end you will be judged as unprofessional no matter what professional position you apply for and not hired. Imagine an interview at an office, lawfirm, or hospital with giant holes in your ears. You will be judged first on appearance. This may limit your career choices to tatoo artist

it's not like they're huge or anything. from the front they just look like fancy studs! so no need to hate.

As long as they were stretched rather than cut, they will go back to shape. The reason they stink is because it's an open wound. My dentist thinks gauges are fascinating ;)

You can go as big as a size six and your ears will go back to shape.

Gauging is not permanent. Only if they are stretched to huge amounts. If mine come out while I'm sleeping, they start to close.

Bactine is great for pain and cleaning. Make sure that you are rotating the jewelry you have in so that the skin doesn't grow around it. Later, if you want to move up a gauge, make sure you do not skip sizes, you don't want to have a "blow out"

a blow out is what happens when you stretch too fast. You rip your skin instead of stretch. Wait until it heals. One size every 2 weeks or so.

woah...you got your ears pierced with a 22g? lol mine were 18...but um....im gauging my ears as well....i went from 16g to 6g in 5 days....when theyre tiny like that you dont need to wait as long....but slow down once you get to bigger sizes..you dont want a blow out.Just clean them with soap and water in the shower ....soooo next ..is care for them... and size up!! so exciting ^_^
