There are a number of ways to make comparisons. You are using the one-month-to-the- next style. Nothing wrong with that, but some economists prefer to compare same-month-last-year since seasonal jobs are not necessarily carried over from month to month. The US unemployment rate in July of 2011 was 9.1%, so from that comparison, the job economy is getting better.
Then there is the comparison of the actual numbers as opposed to percentages. I cannot find the total number of people employed right now, so I don't know how those stack up, but it is possible that more people are employed but also more people are looking for work than there were before which drives up the unemployment rate. Unemployment rate only counts those people actually looking for work.
Obama is a joke. He even believes his own lies. He really has nothing to run on. Never before in America's history has unemployment stayed above 8 for so long. I guess we can say now that he has made things WORSE than the Great Depression. O.M.G. Obama Must Go
I don't think Obama Or the government has had anything to do with adding new jobs. I believe if you leave the business people alone long enough they will figure out how to make money which will add jobs.
