If you look up OMNISCIENT in Dozy's New Internet Dictionary you'll find the meaning is "Ask Moderator".
The Mods see all, know all, and are everywhere. (That's omnipresent. Different word, same meaning -- and not to be confused with ubiquitous.)
The Mods don't need to follow people because part of their qualification for the job is to learn and remember everybody's registration number. They just type it in to a specially designed numeric keypad and they can see everything we've done. My number is 666. Try typing it yourself if you like but if you don't have the Mods' keypad it won't work.
The Mods are like Santa Claus. They know whether we've been bad or good and they leave us gifts from their thumb bag. I've been getting lots of red thumbs lately so I'm going to have to be careful with my answers till they stop watching me.

There was one question earlier today (your time) where the reds were in double figures for some of the answers.
The reds served a purpose while they were being used judiciously, but they've been white-anted by the kids.
