I need help!My comp wont search for things in the start menu.When I type something in the search bar nothing shows up.

I know how to do the whole regedit thing on the comp to add keys but I dont know where to add the search:query=PC key.It goes in the HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE section right?But under what file?My comp said I was missing the search:query=PC file.....please help.

To fix the problem with your search box, first check whether the keyboard is connected correctly. If it is in order, right click on the taskbar and select properties. Under the start button, select customize to open the Windows Start Menu. Check out http://www.ehow.com/how_6466196_fix-windows-xp-search.html for more steps on how to do this.

Yeah he propertes button wont even pop up when I click on it....I think I deleted something I wasnt supposed to during the regedit thing I did to get security shield off . I fixed the security shield virus but I mustve erased some things I wasnt supposed to. The personalize option for the desktop wallpaper wont open either...it says explorer.exe
