What would cause my monitor to randomly go to sleep?

It usually only happens when im watching a youtube video, but my monitor will occasionally go into sleep mode, and say no VGA signal. Also, i tend to drop down to about 5 FPS when im playing online games, im usually at 30-40 (which is good for my internet xD)

The problem might not b the monitor, but the video card or software. Make sure you have downloaded the latest drivers' updates and your video card is fully functional. If this does not solve the problem, check the functionality of the power supply too.

would that explain the low FPS in games aswell?
