How do I get my eyes to stop hurting? (read description)

I went to the eye doctor a couple of days ago and I got a new prescription for my contacts and now my eyes really hurt I've been wearing contacts for almost 3 years and they have never hurt before how do I get my eyes to stop hurting

Pull them out! I've been wearing contact lenses for about 20 years and the only time I had pain in my eyes was if I had an eye infection. (which was brought about due to dirt getting under my lenses and insufficient cleaning)
If you are wearing a different type or brand of lens then it could be that the lens is just not the right one for your eye. I had that problem when I changed lens one time and had to change to a different lens, which worked out fine.
You also need to make sure you take out the lens every night and clean them. I would suggest you call your eye doctor and make an appointment as soon as you can get in. The last thing you want to do is get your eyes so irritated that you won't be able to wear any contact until they heal.
Since you're not sure whether it's the prescription, the lens, or an infection, the thing you do is take them out and call your eye doctor. Good luck to ya. :)

Thanks! It is a much stronger prescription and it's a different brand thank you

Sometimes it's hit and miss trying to find a lens that is comfortable on your eyes, especially when you have your prescription changed. You will be surprised how different the brands can be as far as being comfortable to wear on your particular eye. The last time I had my eye exam, the contact I was wearing was no longer available. So I had to find a different lens. It took me I believe two attempts, but after that I found a lens that worked really great.
Any follow-up visits to your eye doctor should be free of charge because it's all connected with your first visit. Don't wear your contact lens until you see your eye doctor please. :)

Take ur contacts out they might be irritating ur eyes

keep changing doctor until you get there my friend, you gotta fire the doctors like bad employees. I'm suffering from arthritis that young people get, very rare, trust me I went through 5 doctors on one weekend, until I got some meds that worked. Hang in there!!
