Wife is going to leave without paying household expenses for months, take assets and leave me with mortgage and other debts. What can I do?

In the middle of a divorce, house is in both our names, but I contributed 10x what she did ti down payment.

Dustee-everytime I make sure I register a thumbs and then recheck it before I leave the question. So I hope it shows up later to you. Candy's was there as one vote, then I pressed it and it said two votes. So I know both of us hit it for sure. But I will continue to always check-

You'll work it out in between your lawyers during the settlement process, but if she's letting you keep the house, that's still an asset on your side (even if there is a mortgage).

We are not quite underwater, but the house has lost a lot of value. I am just concerned that once she walks away it will be near to impossible to get anything back. Thanks for your reply!

It would be advisable to come up with an agreement, between the both of you. You should get in touch with a lawyer, to assist in giving advice and letting you know the kind of rights you have in such a situation.

That's not helpful. Pointing fingers at someone doesn't change a thing.

Thanks Candybar. Although I am sure she has her own reasons for leaving, I did not want this divorce and she should have no right to walk away with stuff that is not hers

You definitely have to contact an attorney. She can't just walk out without some sort of equitable agreement. If both names are on the house, she has to pay her fair share. Best of luck.
