how can I get a loan on the house I live in if my parents name are on the title? the house is kinda old but good.

I want as much as they will give. I don't care how long it takes to repay. wanna move.

Well, you'd have to get your parents to transfer the title into your name. Then, you'd have to prove that you have enough income to pay on the mortgage and the new loan.

It wasn't even a comment, it was a solid true answer. You can't borrow on something that doesn't belong to you-that's a fact. If it was in your name, you'd have to prove you can pay the loan back. Otherwise your parents are stuck with the loan payments. It's just the truth.

You can't. You'll probably just have to get a job and save up the money you need.

You want to borrow money on something you don't own! Only the government can pull that one off!

Green. What's wrong with working these days. By time I retire after working since I was 16. Social Security will be all gone. : (

This house would need to be in your name to get a loan against it.
If the job you have is not enough, think about getting another job also. Sometimes we need to work two jobs to make it work.

I work. Two jobs!

Are your parents still living? If yes, this is their house. You will not be able to get a loan against it unless your parents sign for you.

My comments get flagged about working. I've been working since I was 16. My husband and I have had some really hard times but NEVER asked for a loan so I could move out of their home. Join the military they offer free housing, job training and medical insurance!! Green beans to ALL of the great answers!

You'll need to talk to your probate lawyer, he/she can walk you through the steps of getting the title changed from your parents name into your name. Once that is complete you'll be able to apply for the mortgage.
