Use Firefox for one.. use of Internet Explorer opens up a lot of unprotected ports during your web surfing, making it easy for a virus to latch on to all our downloads, even if from a "safe" site. Sites can not guarantee, that in the time the milliseconds go by for your message to appear, a virus can latch on kilobits at a time. Once you own a kilobyte, the rest of the virus will find its way onto your computer via future downloads. Firefox prevents this.

Second, maintain your computer with: Spybot Search & Destroy ( Give it admin rights, use the Immunize feature before running ) , Malwarebytes Anti-Malware and CCleaner ( Run this once a day, use the Registry fix option and make a backup save in case. It will automatically do this for you.

All of these are free, you can also buy RegZooka ( I like this ) or RegCure ( Others like this )

Also if your a downloader, use AVG free to take away Windows defender completely. Microsoft is cracking down on Pirating.

Also there is a Ad-on for Firefox, but some sites, like porn sites, you just can't stop the pop-ups. =P

I do not believe you can stop pop up adds. if they just pop up without having your Internet up you may have a virus and should check out the possibility of a virus and removing it.

You can download pop-up blockers. You should try to find some that are free.

I do not believe there is any physical way to delete these from popping up. U can however, exit out of each and every one.

There is an Ad-on for Mozilla Firefox which enables the browsing to go on without any ads appearing on the side which means it also blocks the pop-ups. Search for it if you use Mozilla Firefox.

I close them, then I stop visiting the site that made them pop up. This is kinda like "voting with your visit." Sites track their traffic, and when they lose it they realize they need to change something. Having pop-ups on your site is a horrible choice, so by avoiding those sites you can help them realize that. Also, Chrome seems to automatically block a lot of them.
